The Collections: Catnaps, Original Art, Cards and Prints

I have drawn and painted all my life. When I was very young I remember waking one morning before everyone else and felt so compelled to create an image I scratched it on my wooden headboard. On reflection, and given my mums reaction, I shouldn’t have done that!Becoming a mother and a teacher helped the seeds of creativity in me flourish again and while I have always taken great pleasure in nourishing this in others it also made me realise that my own need to create was being seriously stifled. It wasn’t until lockdown that I had the space to start my own renaissance. All the work on this site has been created since then and if you are kind enough to take a look you will read why I have chosen to paint certain things in certain ways. For me, art is an aesthetic, a challenge and a way of making sense of life. However, just as a piece of music or a song can touch each of us differently, so to can art. In other words, don’t worry if you don’t quite get some of my philosophising. Above all else, art is and always will be, in the eye of the beholder. Your interpretation and reaction to each piece belongs to you. I hope you enjoy.
