Evokes the thundering pounding of waves crashing on the shore. More than any other image of water this signifies to me the dichotomy between danger and almost magnetic attraction. Surfers grab their boards and run towards it. Me, I’ll stay in the shallows and feel its power around me, reminding me that I’m still alive.
